Feminist Economic Recovery Plan

Gender Equality Reduced Inequalities

Over the course of the pandemic, YWCA Canada has been tracking the gendered impacts of COVID-19, and in order for an economic recovery to happen, the sector needs to consider a more inclusive economy. The team developed an 8-point plan that provides a roadmap that considers CIS and trans women, two spirit and gender-diverse women, and centres the most affected communities in recovery conversations. The Feminist Economic Recovery Plan aims to shift from analyzing the impact to moving towards actions, which means changes in policies, programs and investments. This is the first nationally-focused Feminist Economic Recovery Plan in Canada and the world.
